Hey folks,

Many of you are as pumped as I am about Richard Kane Ferguson coming to GP MN.  Regrettably, he is NOT going to make the show. His father passed away yesterday, so he will not be able to make the trip.

We wish Richard and his Family the best in this tough time for them, and we’ll try hard to get him out to another Event when he can make it.

MN DoT LOVES to schedule giant projects on weekends when I have GPs.  They did it again for this one. Thanks to Neal Rasmussen for digging this up. those of you traveling in to the event, PLEASE be aware of the roads that are closed and how they will affect you!  some people will be 100% unaffected. many will be forced to detour a couple miles and end up driving through more city streets/stoplights than normal, please plan accordingly if you are driving in Saturday am! traffic will not be heavy, most likely, sat am, but lane closures and detours will force the bit of traffic there is all the same way and has the potential to back it up!

I’ve dropped a couple legacy events in to the schedule on Saturday afternoon and Sunday afternoon.  We’ll be playing for some from the Vaults. (I need to figure out which ones yet, but I know I have access to some!)

I’ve also updated the vendor page with all attending vendors.  Coming to the event and want to shop around/have them bring stuff for you? check out all the vendors we have coming and get your deal on early!

4 days.

Wow just did a weather check and it looks GREAT! Sunny and 80′s through most of the weekend, a few isolated t-storms on Sunday possible, but Minneapolis is right on the edge of that system, so I wouldn’t expect too much from it.

It’s been brought to my attention that we do not have a legacy event on the side event schedule… What a crazy oversight! I’ll be putting something on for legacy for both Saturday and Sunday, so check back on that in a couple days, and bring your legacy decks!

See you all in 5 short days!

Rob McKenzie and Steve Peterman put together a travel guide for the judges coming in for this event, but it works great for players too! great info here for anyone traveling to GP Minneapolis, just 3 weeks away!

please see the prepayment page HERE.

You ARE allowed to prepay for sleep in special. please be VERY VERY careful with this service. if you are not 100% sure (and confirmed) you have a bye (or byes) for this event. please do not use this option. You may still prepay, and check in onsite either Friday or Saturday morning. We will not be responsible for your bye numbers. if you do not show for a round you have been paired in. you will be given match loss and dropped as normal procedure. Once the next round starts wou will not be able to reenter… so BE CAREFUL!!!!

So, lets see how it works :D

I am MORE than pleased to announce that “old school” fan favorite Richard Kane Ferguson will be joining us at Grand Prix Minneapolis! He’s been busy doing his thing over at R Kane Productions, but we’ve got him coming to Minneapolis.

Who has 2 thumbs and is SUPER stoked about one of his favorite artists of all time???? *THIS GUY*

Steve

A little less controversial than the previously announced Indianapolis playmat, this limited edition mat is by up and coming artist Alayna Lemmer. Many of you will recognize Alayna as one of my semi-regular staff stage. She’s got a bunch of work in other games and media, but hasn’t cracked that Magic egg yet.

This mat will be as it is in this pic, no vendor logos mucking up the look. We should have enough for about 750 mats going to players (Staff and judges will get one also!)

The tower shown burning in the back ground is “the Witch’s Hat”. And is a Minneapolis Landmark located in Prospect Park. This legendary structure is rumored to be the “watchtower” in “All Along The Watchtower” written by Bob Dylan, who’s childhood home overlooked the park and the tower.

GP Minneapolis is May 17th-19th.

Things have made a full shift to store base support now for prereleases. Both my stores DO still have prereleases, but they are being managed/handled from the stores themselves. please check the calendar/site of the store you visit for info on the prereleases, it wont be here any more!

the following is put up specifically by the Burnsville store, but both stores are operating the same way, so the info is good for both.
