Players registering for GP Minneapolis will receive a limited edition playmat, beautifully illustrated by Midwest Artist: Alayna Lemmer, depicting a battle scene and the Witch’s Hat aflame in the background. The Witch’s Hat is a notable Minneapolis landmark and is said to be the inspiration for Bob Dylan’s “All Along the Watchtower”. Bob Dylan’s home during his college years was on the edge of Prospect Park, the home of the Witch’s Hat. These mats will be given to the first approximately 750 players registering for the Main event!
There has not been a player room block made for this event. I am trying something new for Minneapolis, since I know the area very well and am intimately familiar with the potential values there. There are a number of hotels within 2 blocks of the venue which are priced, typically, within ~$20 of each other. I am suggesting players go to Hotels.com and select hotels from the Downtown Minnepaolis area. This shows the location of the GP Venue marked with “X”. I can also suggest Priceline: use 3 1/2 stars and bid for approximately $55-$60. You can possibly end up 7-10 blocks away from the venue using this method, but you can get pretty cheap rooms that way. In my experience Hotels.com is able to match most deals I am able to procure with hotel chains. Priceline can just smash them. My goal is to make this as inexpensive as possible for you to stay in downtown Minnepoalis and enjoy the whole weekend!
Days Inn in Rosedale has asked me to suggest their site for anyone willing to drive in from 10-15 minutes away. Their offer is $60 a night, with a bunch of amenities, including Free breakfast, free internet, and a fridge/microwave in each room. Call 651.328.8760 for reservations, and tell them you are with “Grand Prix Minneapolis.”

The main tournament at Grand Prix–Minnepaolis is open to Magic players of all ages. Side events are open to all players unless otherwise noted.
Sleep in Special
Got some byes? Want to get an extra couple hours of sleep instead of showing up at the venue early for the player meeting? Have we got a deal for you! If you have byes and register Friday night, you will be allowed to verify your byes during registration. Once confirmed, you will be eligible for the “Sleep in Special”. An additional charge of $20 buys you more sleep, how amazing is that?
You may ONLY skip the player meeting if you paid for the Sleep in Special!
